Andrea Chiampo is an Italian London-based contemporary artist and established Concept Designer for the movie industry. His art is characterized by an eerie, surreal, and dreamlike quality, often featuring otherworldly landscapes and fantastical creatures.
Growing up in Italy, Chiampo was influenced by the rich artistic traditions of his home country, as well as by his love of science fiction and fantasy. After graduating in Industrial Design, he followed his passion and began working as a concept artist and designer for the entertainment industry.
Over the years, Chiampo has contributed to numerous films, video games, and other media working for major studios such as 20th Century Fox, Netflix, and Disney.
In 2019, Chiampo began working on a new personal series of digital art he called 𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓. A collection of oneiric illustrations that appear to be rich of symbolism, secrets, and visions. What at first sight might be misunderstood as antique and eerie lithographies are instead the result of digital sculpting and 3D rendering. These works were inspired by his love of antique prints, as well as by his fascination by the intersection of the past, present, and future.
𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓 quickly gained a following online, with fans marveling at the intricate detail and otherworldly beauty of Chiampo's creations. By choice of the artist, the pieces don’t come with a detailed description: “I want each viewer’s personal interpretation to become the ticket to their own journey”.
His work has been exhibited in galleries around the world, and he has recently presented an art movie that follows the creation process of a limited edition of high-quality Intaglio prints of one of his pieces. The film is a testament to the artist's first dedication to bridging the gap between digital art and traditional art and his passion for storytelling. With his current and future projects, Chiampo not only wishes to create his own visual aesthetic, but also to build an archive of some of the most fascinating vanishing artistic techniques.
He now focuses exclusively on bridging antique techniques with new technologies.
